FAQ's

  1. What are the dates for the General Assembly?

The 73rd International General Assembly of the Church of God will be held in Orlando, Florida July 27-30, 2010. The Assembly will begin with a General Council session at 8:30 a.m. on July 27 and conclude with a Commissioning Service on Friday night, July 30.

  1. Why Orlando?

Orlando is one of the most popular locations in the world. With the number of family attractions, through the years Orlando has developed into a world-class convention city as well, with a compact convention center and plentiful nearby hotels. This is the first time the Church of God has held an Assembly in Orlando, but other similar church organizations have held their conventions in the same location with much success.

  1. Why the change in the schedule?

The Assembly has been shortened from Monday through Saturday to Tuesday through Friday. The shortened schedule allows for families, particularly pastors, travel time to reach Orlando on the front end, and a full day to return on the back end. While there will be one less evening worship service, the General Council business sessions will not be reduced.

  1. Where will the activities for the General Assembly be held?

The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) is a very accommodating venue for meetings such as the Assembly, with exhibit halls and meeting venues under one roof.

  1. Are there adequate housing accommodations in Orlando?

There are more than enough hotels within walking distance of the OCCC, eliminating the need for shuttle service.

  1. Why has Teen Talent been removed from the Assembly agenda?

Teen Talent was not a part of early Assembly events and it has now become large enough and vital enough to stand on its own. Because of the late summer scheduling of the Assembly, many TT participants have been unable to attend because of school schedules beginning earlier. Teen Talent will be held earlier in the summer and on the Lee University campus in 2011. More information will be available in the coming months.

  1. How do I register for the General Assembly?
