1. What are the dates for the General Assembly?
The 72nd International General Assembly will be held in San Antonio,
Texas on August 4-9, 2008. The Assembly will begin with the opening worship
service on Monday evening, August 4 and conclude with the Commissioning
Service on Saturday morning, August 9.
2. Why San Antonio?
This will be the fifth time the Church of God has chosen San Antonio
as the General Assembly site. Other years were 1990, 1994, 1998 and 2004. San
Antonio continues to grow and provide an excellent convention setting
with the unique charm of the River Walk. The River Walk is a virtual lobby
for the City of San Antonio connecting hotels, convention center, restaurants,
and shopping. San Antonio is the 9th largest city in the U.S. and is equal
distance from East and West coasts. It is the number one destination in
the state of Texas with 13 major airlines providing nonstop and direct
flights.
3. Where will the activities for the General Assembly be held?
Activities for the assembly will utilize the Alamodome for all
general business sessions and worship services and the newly
expanded Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center will be the site for exhibits,
Teen
Talent, registration and other special activities. The Convention
Center has 1.3 million sq. ft., 444,000 sq. ft. of contiguous exhibit
space,
115,646 sq. ft. of meeting space as well as the Lila Cockrell Theatre.
4. Are there adequate housing accommodations in San Antonio?
Hotel accommodations in San Antonio have increased with the opening
of several new hotels. Assembly accommodations include 18 hotels within
4 blocks of the Convention Center with a total of 34 hotels providing
rooms for the General Assembly. Almost every major hotel has recently

5. Will there be transportation for delegates while in San Antonio?
Shuttle service will be provided for the downtown area hotels on
a continual basis throughout the General Assembly.
6. How do I register for the General Assembly?
There are several ways to register for the General Assembly. You
may register online or use the printable registration form and fax/mail

8. I don’t have a credit/or debit card. How do I register
for the General Assembly?
You may use the printable registration to register and pay the
registration fee with a check and mail it to the address indicated. The printable registration link is located under the Regulation and Housing link.
9. When will the General Council agenda be released?
The agenda for the General Council is usually finalized in the
April meeting of the International Executive Council and released shortly
thereafter. Faith News will release an on-line version as soon as authorized.
10. When will a detailed schedule of general assembly activities be available?
There are several schedules that will be released at different
times leading up to the Assembly, including special events and Teen Talent.
Faith News will release schedules as they finalized by the departments
sponsoring such events.
11. When will my ministerial credentials be sent to me?
Ministerial credentials will be mailed 6 weeks prior to the date
of the Assembly to all credentialed ministers who are already registered
for the General Assembly.
